Deborah Tompsett is strongly committed to working with the community: from schools and families to residential homes and intergenerational groups.
- running pottery workshops in a range of care homes and has worked with older people at High Brooms, Rusthall Lodge and Rotherfield St Martin. Deborah has also received training in working with the elderly suffering from dementia.

- working extensively with local schools – both as part of their out of school activity and curriculum-based projects.
Deborah’s work with schools has included large site-specific ceramic artworks done in collaboration with children (aged pre-school to Year 6) with teachers, and the wider school community – from caretakers to kitchen staff.
